We went to the village by the Bay of Bothnia for a BBQ.
In that moment, we met the rest of the hosts and guests for first time. Also we tried to make a snowman. Another very interesting experience for us was seeing a reindeer.
Finally, we visited the city centre for first time. On Sunday, we went to the Nallikari winter village, where we met for the first time all the other students and we spend a great morning doing snow battles and makings snowmans, and also some people tried ice fishing. Also, we did a little barbecue where we ate sausages and marshmallows and we saw reindeer sleds on which some people rode. After that, we went home and spent time with our families.

On Monday, we went to the swedish finnish speaking school, where they received us with a little opening in where they sang Santa Lucia, a sweddish speaking finnish tradition. Later, they gave us a school tour and we had lunch at the cantine. When the school day finished, some erasmus students went to the Valkia Shopping Centre and we spent our evening there.

Tuesday 12 th of February
This has been a wonderful day! We have visited Rovaniemi where Santa´s village lives. We have seen huskies, sledges, reindeer, we have been taken a nice group photo with Santa and we have told him our peace wishes. We have also read the 3 wishes letter we wrote in Spain on our way to the Polar Artic Circle.
We also visited the Artic Science Centre Artikum , the Kemi Snow Castle , where we could see an ice bar and an ice hotel. It has been incredible! An unforgettable experience.

 Wednesday 13th of February

This day, we attended a debate about minorities in Finland: there were speakers from the Swedish-speaking community, a LGTB representative, a Romani woman and a migrant woman from Malawi. There was a very interesting opinions exchange and we all learned a lot from these discussions and experiences. Then, we had the opportunity to show our videos on equality and see what our European friends have created.
After lunch, some of them went bowling and some others went to play in the Megazone, Escape Room. We had quality time with our Finnish families in the evening.

Thursday 14th of February

We saw during all this day how people in Finland celebrate the end of the last year in highschool (The third year). First, in the morning, the people who had finished highschool, they wore very funny costumes and gave to us some sweets. After , teenagers who were in they second year celebrated that they were in that moment the oldest students dancing a very beautiful coreography in which women wore elegant dresses. At the end of the day people of the third year get on several trucks with the customes that they had wore some hours ago and thay went to the city to give sweets to everyone on the street.

Friday 15th of February

On Friday 15th we woke up quite early to get to the ice skating, and although Emily Olivia Francesca Eve and I got lost and we arrived later, we sure had a great time. We also went to watch the sencond years's dance with those pretty dresses. It was a bit boring and enjoyed the last dance the most. At night we attended to the final party, where we cried for a long time since it was so sad to say goodbye.
